When to Seek Help

Any time pain, stiffness, or difficulty with movement prevents you from doing the things you love. It's almost never too early or too late to get an expert opinion. The longer a problem goes unaddressed, the more time it can take to find lasting relief. That’s why we believe in the power of early intervention. The sooner we can begin your personalized treatment, the quicker we can get you on the path to feeling great again.

You've Got New or Sudden Pain: If you've just experienced an injury, whether it's from a fall, a sports mishap, or an unexpected twist, a physical therapist can help you assess the damage and begin the healing process. Getting help quickly can prevent the injury from getting worse.

How long should I wait before getting my injury checked out?

A common time to wait is about 48 hours. If you have pain/swelling longer than 48 hours, it is time to come in.

What should I do right after an injury?

You've Got New or Sudden Symptoms of Dizziness, Vertigo, Imbalance, Unsteadiness, Bouncing Vision, Motion Sickness, Falls or Near Falls: It's tempting to wait & see if symptoms go away on their own, but here's what's really happening in your body. Around 10 to 14 days after symptoms start, your body becomes an expert at adapting to avoid them. The symptoms might fade, but it's often because you've started compensating without even realizing it. You might change your gait, favor one side, or move more slowly, all of which put stress on other parts of your body. This isn't a long-term solution; it's just a matter of time before the problem returns or a new one develops. Let's get to the root cause before it has a chance to settle in.

You're Struggling with Daily Activities: If you find yourself having trouble with simple tasks like getting up from a chair, walking up stairs, or reaching for something, physical therapy can help you regain your strength, flexibility, and confidence.

You Have Lingering or Chronic Pain: If you've been living with pain for more than a few weeks or months, it's time to get it checked out. Physical therapy is highly effective at identifying the root cause of persistent issues like chronic back pain, arthritis, or muscle soreness that just won't go away.

You're Recovering from Surgery: Whether it's a new knee or a repaired shoulder, physical therapy is essential for a safe and complete recovery after an operation.

You're an Athlete Looking to Improve: Even without an injury, physical therapy can help you optimize your movement patterns, correct muscle imbalances, and prevent future injuries to keep you at the top of your game.
