Your Journey to Recovery Starts Here

At CD Physical Therapy, we understand the profound challenges that come with pain and the journey to recovery. Having experienced injuries ourselves, we are deeply committed to providing care that is not only effective but also compassionate and personal.

We believe in a holistic approach to your well-being, addressing both the physical and mental factors that are crucial for a successful and lasting recovery. Our mission is to empower you to overcome challenges, regain your abilities, and achieve your physical goals.

To accomplish this, we utilize a powerful combination of therapeutic exercise and hands-on manual therapy, including the Graston Technique. This is a specialized form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) that uses stainless steel tools to gently and effectively break up scar tissue and fascial restrictions, helping to reduce pain and restore normal function. We also incorporate advanced modalities like blood flow restriction (BFR) and red light/near-infrared light therapy. Each treatment plan is meticulously tailored to your unique needs, ensuring a safe and comprehensive return to the activities you love.

MEET OUR STAFF

Today, Courtney's life is still centered around athletics as a dedicated spouse and mother to two active boys. Her husband is a rarity—a native of Apex, North Carolina, and together they are raising their sons in the local community. Her oldest son has played lacrosse, high school JV football at Fuquay-Varina, and flag football with RISE. He is now a talented MLS Next Tier 1 soccer player with Wake FC in Holly Springs and a junior at Crossroads Flex in Cary. Her youngest son, who attends Pine Springs Middle School, is an avid runner who enjoys track and cross country, excelling in the pentathlon and recently placing 11th at the 2024 Junior Olympics. He has also played tackle football and is excited to play middle school soccer in the fall.

Her family's journey has also given her unique insight into complex health conditions. Her youngest son was recently diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), a condition of the autonomic nervous system that can cause a rapid heart rate, dizziness, and fatigue upon standing. For young athletes, this can be particularly challenging, affecting their endurance and ability to perform. Inspired by her son's resilience, Courtney has become a passionate advocate and expert in understanding dysautonomia and its impact on active individuals.

Courtney's expertise is further enhanced by her certifications in advanced techniques. She is a Graston Technique Specialist and is certified in Dry Needling Level I, both of which allow her to provide targeted care for her patients' recovery.

Outside of the clinic, you can find Courtney being active with her family, often cheering her boys on from the sidelines and staying busy on the athletic fields around Holly Springs.

Courtney is a proud North Carolina native with a deep-rooted passion for helping athletes and active individuals return to the sports and activities they love. She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and her Master of Physical Therapy from East Carolina University.

Growing up, Courtney was a multi-sport athlete, competing in volleyball, basketball, softball, and swimming. This firsthand experience with the demands of competition gave her a profound understanding of athletic injuries, especially after she tore both her ACLs, one playing high school volleyball and the other during a college intramural game. This personal journey through recovery ignited her passion for sports physical therapy, recovery, and injury prevention.

We're also proud to feature Stephanie, a highly skilled therapist with an impressive 32 years of experience. Stephanie has received specialized training and demonstrated competency in two distinct yet highly related areas:

Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment (MDT): Also known as the McKenzie Method, this approach focuses on understanding how mechanical forces impact your symptoms, particularly for pain in the back, neck, and extremities. Stephanie empowers patients with specific movements and postures to diagnose and effectively self-manage their conditions.

Vestibular Competency: Stephanie possesses specialized expertise in evaluating and managing vestibular disorders. These conditions affect the inner ear and brain, often causing symptoms like dizziness, vertigo, and imbalance. Her training includes performing precise diagnostic tests using state-of-the-art Vestibular First Infrared video goggles and implementing effective rehabilitation techniques to help you regain your balance and confidence. She also has a strong focus on Balance & Fall Prevention in Community Dwelling Older Adults.

This dedication to focused, post-graduate education and extensive clinical experience in both MDT and vestibular rehabilitation allows us to offer truly comprehensive and specialized care.
