Your Journey to Recovery Starts Here

A Partner in Your Recovery:
The CD Physical Therapy Difference

At CD Physical Therapy, we understand the profound challenges that come with acute/chronic pain and the journey to recovery. Having navigated the frustration of injury ourselves, we are deeply committed to providing care that is not only effective but also compassionate, personal, and collaborative. We don't just treat symptoms; we listen to your story.

A Holistic & Specialized Approach

We believe a successful recovery requires a holistic approach, addressing both the physical and neurological factors that influence healing. This is especially critical for our neighbors in Holly Springs, and nearby cities, navigating complex conditions like Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and Post-Concussion Syndrome. We are your team, meticulously tailoring every plan to ensure a safe, comprehensive return to the activities you love.

Advanced Recovery Modalities

To accelerate your healing, we utilize a powerful combination of therapeutic exercise and evidence-based technology:

  • Graston Technique (IASTM): A specialized form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization using stainless steel tools to effectively address scar tissue and fascial restrictions.

  • Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Training: A game-changer for building strength and muscle mass without putting high-stress loads on injured or hypermobile joints.

  • Red Light & Near-Infrared Therapy: Advanced photobiomodulation to reduce inflammation and promote cellular repair at the source of the pain.

MEET OUR STAFF

The Turning Point: Double ACL Recovery

Courtney’s career path was sparked by her own journey through major orthopedic surgery. Having torn both of her ACLs, one during high school volleyball and the second during a college intramural game, she understands the physical and mental hurdles of a long-term rehabilitation process.

A Personal Insight into Complex Health

Her family's journey has also given her unique insight into complex health conditions. Her youngest son was recently diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), a condition of the autonomic nervous system that can cause a rapid heart rate, dizziness, and fatigue upon standing.

For young athletes, this can be particularly challenging, affecting their endurance and ability to perform. Inspired by her son's resilience, Courtney has become a passionate advocate and expert in understanding dysautonomia and its impact on active individuals.

Advanced Clinical Certifications

Courtney's expertise is further enhanced by her certifications in advanced, evidence-based techniques, allowing her to provide targeted care for her patients' recovery:

  • Graston Technique Specialist: Expert-level instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) for scar tissue and fascial restrictions.

  • Dry Needling (Level I): Targeted neuromuscular treatment to reduce pain and improve movement.

  • EDS ECHO Allied Health Professional: Specialized training in the management of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Hypermobility.

At Home in Holly Springs

Outside of the clinic, Courtney doesn’t just "talk" about sports, she’s there in the thick of it. You’ll often find her being active with her family or standing on the sidelines of local athletic fields and courts around Holly Springs, Apex, and Fuquay-Varina. She is a fixture in our local sports community, frequently attending her patients' events to see them in action. Whether she’s cheering from the bleachers at a basketball game, watching a cheer competition, or standing on the track for a meet or the sidelines of a soccer match, Courtney is there to support her patients’ progress in real-time.

Being a "sideline regular" gives her a unique, 360-degree view of her patients' biomechanics and the specific demands of their sport. This presence reinforces her commitment: You aren't just a patient on a schedule, we are a team, and your victory is her victory.

Rooted in North Carolina. Driven by Experience

Courtney is a proud North Carolina native with a deep-rooted passion for helping athletes and active individuals return to the sports and activities they love. She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and her Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) from East Carolina University.

A Life in Motion

Growing up, Courtney was a competitive multi-sport athlete in volleyball, basketball, softball, and swimming. This firsthand experience with the demands of competition gave her a profound understanding of the athletic grind, and the setbacks that come with it.
